Located in Chautauqua County, New York along the shores of Lake Erie and rising 1000
feet to the Chautauqua Escarpment, Portland remains a rural township. Outside of the Village of Brocton, the
Town is largely dominated by farmlands, woods and low density residential land uses, and its
defining features are the many vineyards dotting the landscape.
